Maura Attardi serves as director of sports education at MMI, with a focus on athletes. She has built a reputation as a trusted education partner in the field of professional and collegiate sports. These partnerships have included a relationship with NFL Player Engagement, ongoing services provided to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and collaboration with the National Hockey League Players Association as well as NASCAR and numerous colleges and universities throughout the US.
During her tenure with MMI, Maura has conducted over 1,500 programs, reaching almost 25,000 individuals. She specializes in the financial coaching of professional athletes on the importance of sound money management skills as they begin their professional careers. Her work in this space has resulted in the education of over 13,000 current and former professional athletes. In 2017, Maura was nominated as Financial Educator of the Year for her dedication to professional and collegiate athletes throughout the country. In addition, she is certified by the Credit Data Industry Association on the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
A former Division I women’s soccer player and captain at Villanova University, she achieved success both on the playing field and in the classroom, receiving honors as a three-year consecutive All Big East selection, a Regional All-American, an Academic All-American, and named to the Big East Academic All-Star Team. Maura holds a BA degree from Villanova University and a MA degree from Seton Hall University. In addition, she holds a certificate from Wharton Business School from the NFL Business Academy and a certificate in the Trauma of Money (TOM).
Based in New Jersey, Maura has presented at the Skyline Conference Leadership Summit, the Level-Up Conference, City National Bank Pro Sports Advisory Summit, the Professional Association of Athlete Development Specialists Summit, the NFL/NCAA Summit and Life Skills Symposium, the NFL’s Annual Meeting for Human Resource Professionals and Department of Player Engagement, the East Coast and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conferences on Financial Literacy for Student Athletes, the Financial Literacy Summit for Bank On Greater Pittsburgh, the Leadership Forum at the Wharton Business School, the Seattle Seahawks Sisterhood Wellness Retreat, and the NJ Bankers Association Conference.
