Emanuel Rivero is Sr. Director of the Hispanic Centers for Financial Excellence (HCFE). He also oversees MMI’s small business, student loan, and web-based counseling programs. He specializes in the Latino financial experience in the United States, with a focus on helping newer residents understand, access, and engage the financial system. He is a strong advocate for the largest ethnic minority group in the United States, and in 2018 the HCFE was recognized for its transformative impact with the NFCC Agency Innovation Award.
A veteran of the nonprofit financial counseling sector, Emanuel has managed the operations of several programs, including national partnerships with Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and the Homeownership Preservation Foundation. Under his direction, MMI reached tens of thousands of delinquent mortgage borrowers as they navigated the housing crisis during the Great Recession. With a strong call center background stemming from his experience at Sears Holdings Corporation, Emanuel has also provided operational direction during several agency mergers and in the delivery of “white label” call center solutions for a large national foundation.
Based in Orlando, Emanuel has been sourced as a subject matter expert on topics including the Latino financial experience, medical debt collection practices, small business credit, and program outcome analysis. He has represented MMI at numerous conferences and assemblies including UnidosUS (formerly the National Council of La Raza), EMERGE, Prospera USA, the National Housing Conference, and several community events in his impact areas.
