Managing Your Student Loans

We combine data and expertise to help you make the best choices for your loans.

Running out of time or options?

Of all the debts in the world, student loan debt is one of the most justifiable. It's an investment, after all - part of the cost of chasing your dreams and working towards a career.

The trouble is that dreams aren't guaranteed, and even if you land the job you want, those debts will still be there with you, possibly for decades. With inflation growing faster than wages, it's become harder and harder to balance student loans against the rest of your financial responsibilities.

That's when the juggling begins. Deferment. Forbearance. When you don't have the means to face your student debts directly, you push them to the side. Eventually, you seem to run out of options. Bills come due that you can't pay. Then the calls come. Suddenly you're in default and you start to wonder if there will ever be a way out.

As hopeless as it may feel, you have options. There are steps you can take and programs you may be eligible for. And while sorting through all that information may seem daunting, don't worry - that's what we're here for.

The best decision for your unique situation

What happens during a session
Young couple considering how to pay down their student loans

A student loan counseling session from MMI begins by creating an overall picture of your present finances. We discuss your income, expenses, and debt, then review your credit report.

After this, we review your student loans and their status. We discuss all of your available options, providing details on various student loan repayment programs you may qualify for. Then we discuss your personal goals and how these different options may impact your future plans.

Finally, we use an advanced decision engine to help provide recommendations tailored to your situation and goals. Once you've decided which path you'd like to pursue, we can provide additional guidance (if applicable).
