Who is MMI?

MMI (Money Management International) is the nation's largest nonprofit credit counseling agency. For over 60 years, our goal has been to change how America overcomes financial challenges through coaching, innovative programs, and consumer advocacy.

How does MMI save people money?

We work with creditors to negotiate reduced interest rates and consolidate your credit cards into one affordable monthly payment. The average interest rate for accounts on an MMI repayment plan in 2025 was 7.66%.

Do I qualify for a repayment plan?

There are no credit requirements to start a repayment plan with MMI. As long as a repayment plan is in your best interests and helps you get out of debt, you qualify!

What does it cost?

There’s no cost for completing a financial analysis or working with an MMI counselor. If you decide to start a debt management plan (DMP) with MMI you may be charged a one-time set-up fee (average $38, max $75) and a monthly fee (average $27, max $59).

Will you talk to my creditors?

Working with MMI is completely confidential. We’ll only contact your creditors if you decide to start a debt repayment plan with MMI.
