Support that fits your life

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you reach out. We’ll start with what matters most to you, answer your questions, and explore options that fit your circumstances. Depending on your situation, those options may include a repayment plan with lower interest rates or reduced balances, when appropriate. We’ll explain the benefits, costs, and tradeoffs so you can decide what feels right for you. There’s no obligation to enroll.

A simple first step

Start with a conversation. Tell us what you’d like help with. We can use your credit report to help identify your debts, so you don’t have to gather every statement. Share what you know. We’ll talk through your income and everyday expenses. It’s okay if you don’t have exact numbers. Explore your options. Together, we’ll identify manageable next steps. You can ask questions and take time to decide.

If a repayment plan is a good fit and you choose to enroll, MMI will work with participating creditors and help simplify payments into one monthly payment.

Frequently asked questions

Learn more about MMI and our services.

Who is MMI?

MMI (Money Management International) is the nation's largest nonprofit credit counseling agency. For over 60 years, our goal has been to change how America overcomes financial challenges through coaching, innovative programs, and consumer advocacy.

How does MMI save people money?

We work with creditors to negotiate reduced interest rates and consolidate your credit cards into one affordable monthly payment. The average interest rate for accounts on an MMI repayment plan in 2025 was 7.66%.

Do I qualify for a repayment plan?

There are no credit requirements to start a repayment plan with MMI. As long as a repayment plan is in your best interests and helps you get out of debt, you qualify!

Will you talk to my creditors?

Working with MMI is completely confidential. We’ll only contact your creditors if you decide to start a debt repayment plan with MMI.

What costs and fees should I expect?

Our financial review is free. We may recommend one of our low-cost debt relief solutions, which typically include an initial set-up fee and an ongoing monthly fee. Actual fees are based on where you live and your debt level.

How soon will I be out of debt?

You could be debt-free in 24-48 months. Most DMPs are designed to be completed in five years or less. Reduced interest rates and easy single monthly payments allow you to get control of your debt much faster (7x faster!) than continuing to pay the minimum on your own.

Our next success story? You.
