Learn more about foreclosure counseling from MMI

Can you stop my foreclosure?

We are not attorneys and we cannot stop a lawful foreclosure. However, you may still have the ability to save your home, which is why it's important to speak with a qualified foreclosure counseling specialist as soon as possible.

Will you talk to my lender?

Your counseling session is completely confidential. We won't speak to any third party unless you ask us to.

Can you refinance my home?

MMI is not a lender. We do not provide consumer loans. We can, however, help you connect with your lender or mortgage servicer to begin rehabilitating your delinquent mortgage.

What can you do to save my home?
Counselors are certified and trained to create a plan of action designed just for you and your situation. We don't just offer general advice - we help you take action. Keep in mind that your options will vary depending on your specific circumstances. It’s possible that there may not be a way to prevent a foreclosure that's already in progress. That’s why it’s important to seek help as soon as you begin to struggle.
I can't make up for missed mortgage payments right now. What are my options?
The first thing you need to do is contact your mortgage company to see what options they might be able to offer to help you keep your house. There are many solutions to avoid a foreclosure through loss mitigation. Some of the many alternatives to curing a delinquent mortgage include a partial claim, a straight modification, and a forbearance. Connect with a certified housing counselor to discuss which options are applicable to your situation.
Is there any cost for foreclosure counseling?

Foreclosure prevention counseling is provided for free. There is no cost and no risk to use this service.

Do you provide foreclosure counseling in Spanish?

Counseling services are available in English and Spanish. Interpreter services for many other languages are also available upon request.
