What is financial independence?

The Fourth of July, better known as Independence Day, is a day we celebrate our freedom. And I can’t think of a better “freedom” to celebrate than financial independence! But what exactly IS financial independence? 

Well, for me, financial independence means freedom from: 

  • Stress 
  • Worry 
  • Anxiety 
  • Overdraft fees 
  • Collection calls 
  • High interest rates 
  • Forgotten due dates 
  • Unpaid credit card bills 
  • And, most importantly, freedom from DEBT
