Frugal living is becoming more prevalent thanks to coupon and discount websites such as Groupon, Living Social, Rue La La, and Yipit – the list goes on and on. People are using coupons to receive great deals at restaurants, spas, salons, hotels, events, etc.

Using these kinds of deals are a great way to save money, but it’s important to remember that gratuity isn’t included – and for the most part, isn’t optional! After all, there’s a big difference between being frugal and being just plain cheap.

Whether you’re at a restaurant or salon, you should always base the amount you are leaving as a tip on the original price of the service.
