HOUSTON (August 5, 2015) — Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Southwest Georgia (CCCS of Southwest GA), a community-based nonprofit credit counseling agency, has announced its decision to join Money Management International (MMI), the nation’s largest nonprofit full-service credit counseling agency. CCCS of Southwest GA has been providing financial education services, including credit counseling, debt management assistance, and community financial education programs, to local residents since 1991.

Over nearly 25 years of service, the financial educators at CCCS of Southwest GA have helped more than 55,000 individuals and families regain control of their finances. “Partnering with MMI allows us to expand and improve on our mission by providing our community and clients with the highest quality financial counseling and education services,” said Irma Whitten, President and CEO of CCCS of Southwest GA. “In addition to the experienced, hands-on assistance they’ve come to expect, local families will now have increased access to a diverse collection of valuable national programs, educational tools, and potentially life-changing resources.”

MMI currently provides consumers with face-to-face financial education and counseling services at over 70 branch locations nationwide, with 24 hour a day, 7 day a week assistance available by telephone and internet. Area residents will continue to have access to in-person counseling and education services at CCCS of Southwest GA’s existing location at 409 N. Jackson Street, in Albany, GA. All of CCCS of Southwest GA’s current employees, meanwhile, will be offered a position with MMI.

“We are proud to welcome CCCS of Southwest GA to the MMI family,” said Ivan Hand, President and CEO of MMI. “Together, we will grow on the vital work they’ve been doing in the local Georgia community for nearly a quarter of a century.”
