Money Management International will continue accepting EHLP paperwork through July 27

Posted on July 25, 2011

The deadline for homeowners to qualify for the Emergency Homeowners’ Loan Program (EHLP) has been extended by three days.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has extended the deadline to file a pre-applicant screening worksheet through Wednesday, July 27, in order to give homeowners at risk of foreclosure in the participating states more time to apply for the program.

In order to qualify for this interest-free forgivable loan, homeowners must submit a pre-application document through a HUD-approved agency, such as Money Management International (MMI).

Through the EHLP, homeowners who have experienced a reduction in income and are at risk of foreclosure because of involuntary unemployment or underemployment, because of economic conditions or a medical condition, may receive a zero-interest forgivable loan that pays past-due mortgage payments, including missed payments and late charges, for up to two years, or up to $50,000, whichever comes first.

It’s important for homeowners to act fast. The deadline for submission is now Wednesday, July 27, 2011.

Call MMI at 877.329.2502 for information and assistance with the qualification process, or visit MoneyManagement.org for more information.
