Reduce Monthly Payment
Reduce monthly payment with our helpful tools and advice.
If you find yourself trapped in a debt cycle and are struggling to make on-time payments, there are several things you can do before you find yourself drowning in debt.
- Negotiate . Work with a reputable nonprofit agency, such as Money Management International/CCCS. They have relationships with your creditors and may be able to work out a way to reduce a monthly payment. Benefits of the program often include lower interest rates and a reduced monthly payment. Best of all, you know exactly when you will be debt free. Finding a repayment plan that will allow you to reduce a monthly payment is a good alternative to bankruptcy.
- Prioritize . If all of your attempts to reduce a monthly payment fail you should not give up, but seek Money Management International for help. You should note that not all debt affects your family equally. For example, you must continue to make mortgage or rent payments so that you do not lose your home. You must also pay utilities and provide food for your family. Please do not be tempted to let your insurance coverage expire. If you haven't done so yet, seek help from Money Management International/CCCS. You might also find relief from your local United Way and your local city and county governments.
