Melissa Ouari is Information Security Risk and Business Continuity Officer at MMI, where she leads risk management efforts for information technology, including cyber risk and business reliance, as well as third party risk management for MMI. Melissa coordinates with key risk stakeholders to align and ensure the proper balance between internal controls and optimizing the customer experience and overall productivity. She oversees IT risk management to ensure compliance to both industry and state level regulations and requirements related to security and privacy of data.

Melissa is a graduate of Fordham University in New York City with a degree in International Business and Finance. Prior to joining MMI, Melissa spent most of her career at EY where she held several positions of leadership in IT Audit, Advisory and Security Solutions and served clients cross-industry. Melissa served on several committees, including mentoring and developing junior staff. She also was a key contributor to both thought leadership and service offerings around Business Continuity and Security Assessments, leveraging the NIST CyberSecurity Framework. Melissa’s thoughtful and pragmatic approach for managing risk, as well as the ability to present information technology recommendations to non-technical business executives in a manner that removed technical jargon and explained the risk and impact to the business was consistently well received.

During the pandemic, Melissa was a panel member on a series of webinars offered to non-profit organizations in the New York Tri-State area that focused on business continuity and security in a remote work environment. She published various whitepapers and blogs for existing clients and was published in both The NonProfit Times- “Covid-19: Failures Jump When Planning Isn’t In Place” and Bloomberg Law- “Supply Chain Resiliency Post Covid 19”.
