Posted on September 27, 2017

SUGAR LAND, TX – Money Management International (MMI) is pleased to nominate Maura Attardi of West Long Branch, New Jersey for the 2017 NFCC Educator of the Year. The award will be announced during the NFCC Connect conference, October 1 – 4 in Anaheim, California.

Ms. Attardi focuses on developing relationships with non-traditional partners for MMI's Mapping Your Future Financial Solutions division. She has built a reputation as a trusted education partner in the field of professional sports. These partnerships have included a relationship with NFL Player Engagement, and ongoing services provided to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Attardi conducts workshops for over 30 professional sports organizations and provides financial education to student-athletes at universities across the United States.

Most recently, Attardi began working with the National Hockey League (NHL) on a multi-channel financial wellness program. The goal is for players and teams to understand the value of a trusted financial coach and to provide professional athletes with services that protect their reputation and pocketbook through exposure to financial basics.

"Maura has a deep understanding of successful financial wellness engagement," said Jeff Davis, Vice President of Strategic Development at MMI. "She possesses a contagious enthusiasm and has a remarkable ability to read her audience in order to make the material accessible to all."

Throughout her 17-year career in education, Attardi has remained committed to professional development and continues to develop her skills as an educator and financial coach. A graduate of Villanova University and Seton Hall University, Attardi plans to enroll in Boston University's online financial planning program to become a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). She is certified by the Credit Data Industry Association in the Fair Credit Reporting Act and by the NFCC as a Certified Financial Educator.

A national ambassador of financial wellness for MMI since 2008, Attardi also develops and supports programs for employers and financial service organizations across the country. She meets the challenging travel schedule enthusiastically, while engaging her local community as a board member of the Pleasantville Housing Authority in New Jersey. Her innovative approach and commitment to results has allowed her to achieve measureable change and success, exemplifying MMI’s mission of Improving Lives through Financial Education.
