Posted on January 02, 2012

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Alaska (CCCS of Alaska), a community-based nonprofit credit counseling agency, announced today its decision to join the Money Management International (MMI) team; the nation’s largest nonprofit full-service credit counseling agency.

CCCS of Alaska has been providing financial education services, including credit counseling, debt management assistance, and financial education programs to residents throughout Alaska since 1981.

“This partnership represents our commitment to providing our community and clients with the highest quality consumer credit counseling services and financial education,” said Larry Snider, CEO of CCCS of Alaska. “By combining resources with MMI, we are able to reach more consumers and offer more programs and services in a more effective manner.”

Together, the combined organizations will provide consumers with financial education and counseling services through more than 110 branch offices across the nation and with 24 hour a day, 7 day a week assistance by telephone and Internet. Local counseling and education services will continue to remain available in the Anchorage and Fairbanks communities. The agency will maintain its membership with the National Foundation for Credit Counseling and its certification as a quality service provider by the Counsel on Accreditation.

“We are excited to welcome CCCS of Alaska to the MMI family,” said Ivan Hand, President and CEO of MMI. “The CCCS team is a valuable part of the Anchorage and Fairbanks communities, and we are looking forward to continuing to build upon the great traditions they have established.”
